Elizabeth Muzik Joins Clearwater Beach's Sandpearl Resort as Director of Food & Beverage
CLEARWATER BEACH, FL (June 12, 2007) – Coral Hospitality has appointed Elizabeth Muzik as Director of Food & Beverage and Darryl Wilson as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage of the Sandpearl Resort, the first new beachfront resort on Clearwater Beach in over 25 years. The eight-story luxury hotel, opening late summer 2007, will feature 253 guest rooms and suites positioned along 700 feet of Gulf of Mexico waterfront, as well as 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.
Muzik possesses over 20 years of hospitality experience, most recently working with ARAMARK Corporation, the exclusive caterer for the Tampa Convention Center and for the Atlantic City Convention Center, as general manager, where she handled all food and beverage operations for over 650,000 square feet of meeting space at each venue. Prior to those positions, she served as food and beverage director of the Omni Hotel at Independence Park in Philadelphia, Pa., and as director of outlets for the Tradewinds Island Grande, Sandpiper and Sirata Beach Resorts in St. Petersburg Beach, Fla. Muzik earned her Bachelor of Science in Management from Rutgers University and secondary degree in Paralegal Studies from University of Arizona.
“Elizabeth brings to the Sandpearl team a strong background in event venue and food & beverage management,” stated Stuart Arp, General Manager of Sandpearl. “All of us at Sandpearl, Coral Hospitality and JMC Communities are excited to have her as part of the team.”
Wilson brings over 25 years of experience within the hospitality industry to Sandpearl, most recently serving as director of outlet operations at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Dallas, where he oversaw daily operations of three restaurants, three beverage outlets and 24-hour room service for over 1800 guest rooms. Other past positions include assistant food and beverage director of the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort Hotel, and director of outlet operations for the Jacksonville Hilton Hotel and Towers. Wilson attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration.
“Darryl makes the perfect addition to Elizabeth’s food & beverage team,” stated Stuart Arp, General Manager of Sandpearl. “His background in overseeing operations at large hotels and his experience at other beachfront resorts make him the ideal assistant director.”
Muzik, Wilson, and the current Sandpearl Resort team are residing in the pre-opening office located at 600 Cleveland Street in Clearwater until the resort opens.
