Blue Moon Hotel Now Managed by
Coral Beach Hotels & Clubs
South Beach, FL (Dec. 7, 2000) - The Blue Moon Hotel in South Beach is now managed by Naples-based Coral Beach Hotels & Clubs, announced Coral Beach Hotels & Clubs Chairman John E. Ayres.
"The Blue Moon is a superb and powerful addition to the two existing South Beach hotels in our portfolio, the WinterHaven Hotel and the Essex House Hotel & Suites," Ayres announced. "With these three hotels, we're playing on a whole new marketing field." The Blue Moon Hotel will be marketed under the banner of the Coral Collection of Fine Hotels & Resorts, a group of seven South Florida hotels, each with a unique character and style. Coral Beach Hotels & Clubs created the Coral Collection to enable its portfolio of small, personal hotels to compete effectively with the large chain hotels, brands and franchises.
The 75-room Blue Room Hotel is located on Collins Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets, in the heart of the Art Deco district, steps from the beach, boutiques, bistros, and galleries. The hotel features a restaurant, 2,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor banquet/event facilities, and a private outdoor pool and patio.
The hotel, like its sister hotels the Essex House and WinterHaven, is a restored historic landmark. The Blue Moon mixes Mediterranean and Art Deco architectural styles; the Essex House Hotel & Suites, just a half-block away, is one of South Beach's most pure renditions of the Art Deco style, and the WinterHaven Hotel is a classic example of the late Art Deco style called Streamline Modern.
